Nashe Organics was born during and from the natural hair movement in the African hair community back in 2012. Then, going natural was the easy part. The difficulty came in finding products specifically formulated for Afro hair.
Our Founder, Evenes Mafupa, had gone natural in 2011 herself and was facing the same challenges. She decided to start blogging to share her experiences and how she was navigating the care of her natural hair. DIY hair products were a must in those formative years — and being the creative that she is, she found herself being asked to make more for her friends. That is how she sold her first batch in 2013.
From there, she went on to formalising a business and building a team focused on providing hair and skin care products. Nashe Organics products combine authentic ingredients that benefit our hair and skin, powerful actives that deliver real results, and the science of cosmetic formulation — for products that are safe, stable, and long-lasting.
We still stay true to our vision, which motivates and inspires us to keep showing up, improving our skills, and growing our offering. African natural hair and skin deserves the best — and who better to do this than us.

Founder & Lead Cosmetic FormulatorEvenes Mafupa is a visionary cosmetic formulator and entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in the beauty and hair care industry. As the founder of Nashe Organics, she blends technical precision with a passion for high-quality, transparent manufacturing to empower both individual consumers and B2B clients.
What sets Evenes apart is her multidisciplinary background. Before entering the beauty space, she spent over 12 years in Mechanical Engineering and earned a Professional Diploma in Supply Chain Management (MCIPS). This allows her to view cosmetic formulation through a comprehensive lens — optimising the entire value chain from raw material sourcing to final production.
Her commitment to hair health is backed by extensive practical training. As a registered Afro Hairdresser with a Cosmetology certificate and a certificate in Holistic Trichology, she combines scientific knowledge with real-world insights — developing solutions for the authentic challenges people face daily.
Beyond the laboratory, Evenes champions the Triple Bottom Line, ensuring her business supports social equity and environmental health. Deeply committed to women's empowerment, she provides hairstyling training to disadvantaged women to facilitate employment and entrepreneurship — and mentors young women through the complexities of academics, careers, and business.
